Friend or Foe...

When you're online, it's not a simple task to determine who your friend or foe is. You'll have people trying to "get fresh" with you for all kinds of reasons... and usually the most prevalent reason is to "empty your bank account"... Well, that's just putting it negatively which most people can relate to =)

The irony of it all is that in real life, things are pretty much the same too!

Just because someone is willing to do a joint venture with you doesn't mean that he or she is your friend. In business, it's just business. If you take things personally, you'll be quite disillusioned. The key is to stay detached.

Sometimes, your friend is someone who will reject your ideas and try to guide you by doing something which you think only a foe would do. You need to look through the razzle dazzle and straight at the intention and motivation behind your friend's actions or words to find the true friendship that sometimes need to hurt you.

Not everyone can be helped in the same way. Some need to be shown a tougher way in order to make it through in life. If you help to break open the cocoon for a moth or butterfly, you're crippling it from flying for life!

Instead of wondering who your friend and foe is, it's better to wonder how good or bad a friend you are to your friends. Then, you'll be able to discern better and not jump to conclusions =) Your perspective in life is bound to change, so let it change for the better, and remember... it always starts from within ourselves.

Copywriting Basics...

Write these 5 questions down:

1. What is the problem?
2. Why has it not been solved?
3. What are the possibilities?
4. What is different now?
5. What should you do now?

When you are answering these 5 questions, just do it as-a-matter-of-factly. Do not try to be creative. You can get creative later.

1. What is the problem?

Firstly, identify the main problem your target audience faces, in other words, the main problem that your product or service solves. It would help for you to know your audience well in the first place. What are the 3Ps of your audience? Pain ... Problem ... Predicament ...

Do your part. Investigate and Diagnose their Problem first.

It would be a grave mistake to just shove a solution down your audience's throat before getting your audience to acknowledge that there is such a problem in the first place.

They need to know and perceive you as understanding their pain, problem and predicament. So, it is important that you know your audience and what they are facing before embarking on your copywriting.

Write down your target audience's problem in a few sentences. Do not be longwinded about this so that you will have a better focus.

2. Why has it not been solved?

Write down the reason(s) why the problem still continues, persists or lingers. What are the factors preventing a solution? A few factual sentences would do.

3. What are the possibilities?

This is known as possibility thinking. Write down whatever is possible as a solution to your audience's problem. Paint a picture of the way things would be when your audeince's problem has been solved. As usual, a few sentences would do.

4. What is different now?

How will things become for your audience with the solution(s) you have come up with? This is where you introduce yourself and explain how your product or service can help them, and show what is so different about your product or service that will eliminate their problem. This is where your Unique Selling Point/Proposition (USP) comes in. Again, just a few sentences would suffice. Do not rant and rattle on. Write the substance, not the details.

5. What should you do now?

State clearly and explicitly what you want your audience to do. This is your call to action. Simply tell them to respond in some specific way such as opt-in, request a call-back and buy the product or service.

When you are done answering the 5 questions, you will have in your hands the blueprint of your web copy! That would be the meat while the rest is just gravy. With this, you can make sales. This blueprint, consisting of the answers to those 5 simple questions, can be used to create any type of marketing materials... even your elevator speech.

Learning the different building blocks in order to make money online is usually quite an uphill task. First of all, you'll need to have a very strong desire and the resilience to succeed... especially if you're not IT inclined and can't stand being in front of the computer screen for hours.

In the real world, targeting blindly may still bring in satisfactory results because it's not as dynamic and fast as the Internet. However, over the Internet, it's really a different ball game. If you snooze you lose... and that's losing a lot faster than in the real world.

Now, one of the most effective ways to do affiliate marketing is to do your marketing offline. However, the same marketing skills apply. You need to be a good copywriter to get the desired results. If you can't do that well, outsource.

The Way We Look At Things...

Many people are going after the same things in life... Some succeed better than others. Why? And that applies also to making money online.

Using a fool-proof system doesn't make a fool less a fool. Think about it.

You'll find that people with very positive thinking tend to be more successful... What do we mean by thinking positive? Does it mean that in order to be successful, we need to force feed ourselves with only positive thoughts? If you try doing that, you'll be drained out in no time!

No, it's not forcing thoughts into our minds that would make a real change. It's about how we look at things. I'm sure you've heard of this analogy many times...
When you look at a half filled cup, what do you see? Do you see it as half FULL or half EMPTY?

We're taught to solve "problems" in schools. What the world sees as "problems" are actually challenges and opportunities for someone with a transformed mindset. Changing the way you view your situations will definitely help you see life just the way it really is quite effortlessly =)

For those who are Christians and are confused about how The Secret doesn't conflict with Christ, here's how... The crux of the matter lies in how we interpret The Secret.

Similar to the different movements we have in Church, different people will interpret different movement differently. Doesn't mean that when there's disagreement, the Truth ceases to exist. Sounds complex, but let me explain it a little here.

Example, those in the Charismatic movement will see the Spirit at work in a dynamic and sometimes dramatic way. Those who love meditation will see the Spirit at work in a different way and may not agree with those in the Charismatic movement. Those who love rituals will see the Spirit at work in very human ways...

They may all misinterpret each other or even their own ways! Let me explain the latter as the former needs no explanation... Example a Charismatic person may even think that he's the healer after experiencing God's healing through him!

We are all stewards given the full authority of the Lord. How we use it or abuse it, we'll all have to give an account eventually. Remember Lord of the Rings? The Return of the King is inevitable. What kind of steward we are depends on what we hold dear to our heart.

One of the consistent best of the lot would be Aweber...

If your sales/product page doesn't convert well for whatever reason, having an autoresponder work for you might just help you salvage your business. It gives people a second, third, fourth... chance to become more familiar with you and/or what you have to offer. It can help you build a strong rapport which can lead to a long-term relationship and business.

I strongly discourage the use of free autoresponders to do your follow-up because they usually come decorated with other people's ads, causing your message to look pale, unimportant and unprofessional... So, it's a Big NO NO.

It's your business. Treat it and run it like one and you'll earn likewise.

Good question. My answer:

It would be obviously advantageous but not necessary.

Why? As affiliates, we're not selling but preselling.

Just do some basic research using the search engines and you'll find out many things about your affiliate product. Focus on what problems your target market is facing and how your product is a great solution. In your preselling, you present your findings like what the symptoms and signs of the problems are & the consequences if they are not identified early... Then, point them to your affiliate product as a great and plausible solution. Simply directing them will usually be sufficient since most people would appreciate the research you've done and put into one convenient place.

Read the above paragraph again if you will... I know you'll benefit from it =)

If you've bought and personally experienced the product, you can easily talk about the benefits and features of getting the affiliate product, but you may also overkill your preselling if you're not careful...

Personally, I usually get the product to find out more before I promote.

Dealing With Emotions

It's very easy to get carried away with our emotions when situations surrounding us do not seem to spare us a thought... However, we all know that it's best not to say, think or do anything when our emotions are getting the better of us. We are likely to regret whatever we say, think or do... if we do not first calm ourselves down.

If you can handle your emotions, you are likely to make better decisions, become more focused, avoid unnecessary troubles and lead a more meaningful and happy life.

Emotions are like the readings (mercury in motion) from a thermometer, showing us what we're facing within us. We need to read them and interpret the readings like how we do so for our body temperature. If we find our body temperature too high, we would need to find a way to bring that down. Similarly, after interpreting what our emotions mean, we would need to decide on the appropriate course of action to restore equilibrium to maintain a healthy spirit, soul, mind and body.

Emotions need to be regulated like how our body temperature would need to be regulated. Here, I'll share with you one highly effective way to deal with negative emotions.

You can do this anywhere. Breathe in slowly and deeply and receive patience, kindness, peace and everything good... Breathe out all the negative emotions, fears, anxieties, doubts and everything that's senseless and not good... Repeat this process until you're calm.

You can apply this to anything, not just dealing with emotions, but also to clarifying what you want, and don't want etc.

If building a website is too much of a trouble for you,
you can try Building Blogs =) You'd still need
autoresponders, tracking tools etc. to help you with your follow up etc.

Now, getting a unique domain name that'll identify what you or your product is about will prove to be generally more profitable in the long run. I won't say that blogging without a unique domain name isn't profitable because people are now beginning to purchase as much from blogs as those sites with unique domain names because more and more people with unique domain name sites are just blowing off their chances these days and people with free domain names via creating blogs could be doing a whole lot better as bloggers who buy stuff are not that bothered with whether a blog in the social blogging circle has a unique domain name or not as long as the rapport or a relationship has been built. If you're not shy about yourself, blogging your way to the bank could just be for you =)

Most people are taught to get a unique domain name to be in business. The truth is, you need not follow such "rules" to make money online. There are really NO FIXED RULES! Get creative and you'll be surprised at how free things can sometimes make you money =)

With all that said, it'll still be great if you could get a catchy domain name for yourself because that'll help you attract more people to yourself most definitely, giving you an edge over your competition. Things will definitely work out better if you do your little part =)

Discipline yourself in a gradual manner... I'm not asking
you to be like me right away. I know it takes time to
cultivate new habits to replace old ones. Manage your time
and don't let it manage you and slip off your fingers...
Spend more quality time with your loved ones and have
plenty of rest at night =)

You need energy to make things work the right way.

If you allow yourself to spend obscene amounts of time,
you would most probably be wasting most of the time away
on unnecessary "work", and you can never get back this
wasted time. Think about it =)

Gaining knowledge progressively is crucial. Information overload,
quick pace of technological advancement and a worker's mindset
are common pitfalls even to veterans...

Applying relevant knowledge is another "difficult" area. Everyone
can be a student, but the results can vary insanely even with the
application of the exact same tools and systems... Ever wondered
WHY SO?

My friend, there's more to it than meets the eye. Success or
failure depends on what you attract to yourself, and usually you
are not even aware of it yourself...

Yes, if you've done enough research, you would have heard of
The Secret, mindset, managing your emotions... "mumbo jumbo".
Are they just some mumbo jumbo or are they for real?

Can anyone actually attract money among other things in life to
themselves and make money without doing much?

If there's now a shortcut to get the Law of Attraction to work
